Charitable Projects

Despite the great beauty of this country, it cannot mask the scars of the brutal civil war that raged here from 1992-1995 where the main victims were innocent civilians. The break up of Yugoslavia was followed by Serbia’s aggression that saw genocide and atrocities that resulted in more than 100,000 deaths and a deeply traumatised Bosnian society. The expression ‘ethnic cleansing’ was first used here in a country where previously, people of all religions lived together peacefully.

Although fighting ended many years ago, today much of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains a casualty of war. Many people face daily poverty, youth unemployment is among the highest in the world, access to medical care is limited. Today’s victims include youth, war injured, orphans and rape victims. Sadly in many parts of the country the communities are still divided along religious lines.

We are proud to have been involved in charitable activities in Bosnia Herzegovina for over 20 years. We are a social enterprise, so all our profits go towards helping the most poor and vulnerable people in the communities. Furthermore, our unique approach with our tourism services allows the modern traveler of today to join us in helping build a better future for the people of this country.

All our guests who have been involved in charitable work with us have an even better holiday experience by being able to help the needy.

Our projects include: supporting orphans and poor families, scholarships for students, supporting rape victims, supporting youth groups, rebuilding homes, peace-building programmes, and the 11 July Peace march for Srebrenica.

Our Bosnia office carries out our charity work in partnership with well established and reliable non profit organisations in Bosnia Herzegovina. We are also proud to be partners with Act of GoodWill; a New York – based crowdfunding platform, which helps people of all walks of life, disregarding their race, color or background.
